Zusammenfassung

Role-playing, an innovative teaching method, has been promoted as a very effective tool in education. This methodology was used in order to help students of the last academic course of Food Science and Technology program at the University of León (Spain) to face with confidence and successfully the defense of their Bachelor Thesis. In addition, Twitter was used as a tool for the dissemination of science knowledge acquired by students. A satisfactory questionnaire survey of the activity was distributed among participants. All students considered that this activity increased their confidence when facing the real Bachelor Thesis defense and it helped them to improve their oral communication compared to if they had not done this activity. For this reason, it would be interesting to implement this active learning methodology in upcoming academic courses, even being able to extrapolate it to students from other science degrees
