Doctor by the Universidad de León with the thesis La intervención humanitaria y el Derecho internacional 2001. Supervised by Dr. Romualdo Bermejo García.

Associate Professor of Public International Law and International Relations at the University of León. My research focuses on the international legal framework governing international peace and security, with particular emphasis on the use of force, multinational operations and the protection of human rights in operational contexts. My recent work addresses State practice in global spaces and contemporary forms of resistance to international law, from a perspective that combines security, multilateralism and legal normativity. I have carried out research and teaching stays at leading international academic institutions, including the Centre d’Études et de Recherches Internationales et Communautaires (Université Paul Cézanne Aix-Marseille III), the Centre de Recherche en Droit Public (Université de Montréal), the Jean Monnet Chair in the Law of International Economic Integration (McGill University), as well as the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies and the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights. My academic profile integrates theoretical analysis with the study of international law in operational settings, particularly in the maritime domain and in multinational operations. I have also held several institutional and managerial positions within the university, contributing to a comprehensive approach to teaching, research and academic governance.
