I am Associate Professor in the Department of Economics and Statistics at the University of León. PhD in Business Sciences from the University of León, Extraordinary Doctorate Award and the thesis received the Monteleón Foundation Award for the best research work in its 1999 edition. In terms of teaching activity, I have taught several subjects related to the field of Economic Structure. I have taught in several Master's Degrees and I have directed and participated in numerous Summer Courses and University Extension Courses. This teaching work has been recognised by five five-year teaching periods. My research activity is mainly focused on agricultural economics, in particular, the analysis of production and efficiency of small ruminant farms and the study of rural and territorial development from the perspective of sustainability. My teaching and research work converge in the direction and co-direction of five doctoral theses. I have authored and co-authored several books, research articles and other popular articles. In the field of university management, I have been the director of the Office of Educational Cooperation and Internships at the Vice-Rectorate for Students and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies.
