Abstract

The knowledge explosion and new technologies have generted a wide range of material resources -books, records, audio and video tapes, etc.- that have influenced a lot of the change produced in teacher role, from being a knowledge transmitter to be a learning inductor.The training of future teacher has to pay attention to the use of those material resources and to their planning in libraries, mediathèques and resource centers.The different processes carried out in school libraries and mediathèques for organizing book, graphic or audiovisual material, consisting in selection -acquisition and registration, as well as cataloguing, classification, and file making- are important technics to be known by the teacher, sice the improvement in teaching quality depends on the good organization of resources
