Resumen
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the predictive value of approach coping on academic burnout and engagement dimensions in a sample of 775 students among different university grades of Educational Sciences. Spanish versions of the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS), Utrecht Work Engagement Student Scale (UWES-SS) and Coping Strategies Inventory (CSI) were employed. The results show that most of the approach coping significantly and negatively predicts burnout but significantly and positively predicted engagement. The intervention programs have to consider those strategies to prevent burnout and to increase engagement.
