Zusammenfassung

The objective of this research was to compare body composition, lipids blood profile and physical fitness with and without overweight in adolescent females, and correlating each variable. A cross-sectional. They included thirty-eight adolescent females aged 14-19 y. Classified as with (n = 17) and without overweight (n = 21) based on letter of World Health Organization (WHO) with the IMC (kg/mts²) depended of the z-score aged 5-19 y. (z-score: 0 to +1 d.s. = without overweight, +1 to +2 d.s. = with overweight). Measurements of body composition, lipids blood profile (total cholesterol, triacylglycerol, cHDL, cLDL) and physical fitness (VO2peak and 1 RM) were performed. The results show that adolescents with normal weight were significantly (p < 0.05) lower (mean ± SD) in all the variables of body composition (BMI, % body fat, 4 and 5 skinfolds thickness, waist circumference and ICC) girls with overweight. No significant differences in VO2peak, 1RM and lipids blood profile were found. It is concluded that in teenage girls regardless of the levels of overweight the regular exercise (VO2peak and muscle strength) can be well recommended and may be a factor in preventing future occurrence of metabolic diseases and cardiovascular risk. The fitness levels of VO2peak were inversely associated with adiposity levels.
