Doctor by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with the thesis Modelación análoga de la evolución del relieve Cenozoico de la Península Ibérica implicaciones en la dinámica cortical y litosférica. 2008. Supervised by Dr. Gerardo de Vicente Muñoz, Dr. Sierd Cloetingh.
Professor and scientist in the Mining Prospecting and Research Area of the Higher and Technical School of Mining Engineers of the University of León. Graduate in Geological Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid and PhD in Geosciences from the University of Utrecht (Holland). He has a Master's Degree in Secondary Teaching (UNIR) and another in Scientific Communication from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. He is specialized in the study of gold deposits and mining technology in Roman times. His lines of research are directed towards the study of glacial geomorphology, mining of gold deposits and iron deposits, structural geology and alpine tectonics and heritage documentation through the use of new technologies, such as ground and airborne lasers (LiDAR). , drones and terrestrial photogrammetry. The author is a pilot and drone operator certified by the State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA). His scientific work has been recognized with several Scholarships and International Research Awards. He has published more than 80 scientific articles in high-impact international and national journals, along with several books on various fields of geology and mining heritage. He combines his research activity with scientific dissemination and is a regular columnist for the newspaper Adelanto Bañezano.
