Resum

In the past, the way to program and coaching in football was based on methodologies used in individual sports especially athletics, with a training process characterized by a differentiated training performance factor of this sport. From the 80s and 90s, Francisco Seirul-lo (structured approach) and other authors like Victor Frade (periodization tactic) began to show the football as an indivisible whole, raising training methodologies more consistent to requirements of the game. Due to all the above, currently we can highlight two methods over the rest: tactics periodization and structured training. This paper proposes a narrative review on the current models looking back in order to understand the usefulness at the moment.
