Abstract

This article deals with a practical experience aimed at the teaching of collective sports (exemplified by handball) and based on a game-centred approach in Compulsory Secondary Education. Such experience is set upon the attitudinal style framework which, on the one hand joins a methodology centred on the attitudes implied in the teaching and learning process, and on the other hand it grants a suitable motivation on behalf of students. Besides, it tries to achieve an increasing autonomy of the students, what allows them to analyse the development of the learning process, not only by pointing out their own mistakes, but by identifying their partners’ . Then, after correcting them, they would turn this into a real formative assessment process. Thus, the assessment becomes a process of on-going dialogue, which is not simply a series of tests where the key is to answer the wh-words that help us understand it in order to improve it (why, what for, to whom the assessment is aimed at)
