Abstract
If digital transformation is combined with innovation through artificial intelligence, robotisation or other advances in science and technology, it is possible – and to a greater extent possible – to witness a substantial change in the employment paradigm, with the loss of numerous jobs and the obligatory challenge of discovering other sources that can replace them. A movement in which collective redundancies are called upon to cover a double expectation, as the end point of the jobs that disappear, but also as a meeting point to begin reconstruction, through a fruitful dialogue in the consultation period. Measures aimed both at alleviating the negative consequences for those affected and at accompanying those who do not find a new job through an umbrella of protection capable of providing them with cover until they find one will play a fundamental role.
