Abstract

The aim of this paper is to aproach to a whole the asturian brotherhoods at last moments of Enlightment approaching it from information Expediente General de Cofradías. Particulary, we will raise the asturian brotherhoods from the economic point of view, analyzing the main sources of income to focus in those that enlightened government considered the main problem of waste of funds: the playful celebrations.These celebrations has been pointed out as responsible for the weak economy of these brotherhoods, and we talk about it in this research to gauge this responsibility and the importance related to popular religiosity.
