Xerobion kadyrbekovi n. sp. is described from apterous viviparous females collected on Artemisia herbaalba in Los Monegros (Zaragoza, Spain). Xerobion is a genus of xerophilous aphids, typically hosted on species of Amaranthaceae and Asteraceae and spread from the Iberian Peninsula to the Russian Far East. The current taxonomic extension of the genus was established few years ago by Kadyrbekov. It currently has 21 species (including the species here described), eight of them are known in Europe west of Russia and four in Spain. The characteristics of the other 20 species in the genus have been considered for the description of Xerobion kadyrbekovi n. sp., especially those of X. caspicae, with which it shares more characteristics than with any other.
