Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of the recent Organic Law 2/2023, of March 2/2023, of the University System on the academic career of the university professional through the different figures of employment contracting, taking into account that said norm aims end precariousness and establish a stable and predictable academic career. Once the figure of Assistant Professor has disappeared, the predoctoral contract is now the only way to begin teaching and researching and complete the doctoral thesis. Next, the position of Assistant Professor Doctor which no longer requires accreditation, implies access to the academic career in the strict sense, in a stage that, together with the previous one, can take up to ten years. The stabilization comes with the Permanent Labor Professor contract, of an indefinite nature and which is intended to be equivalent to official categories, although at the same time it serves as a bridge for promotion to them. Finally, the study analyzes the measures adopted to eliminate the abundant fraud in the position of Associate Professor and recover its true purpose, as well as the new Substitute Professor to temporarily attend to current teaching needs.
