Résumé

The tramcar is an electrically grip mean of conveyance typically found in urban areas. It is based on a fleet of man-driven vehicles running on a reserved pathway platform with punctual interferences with pedestrians, cars and street users in grade crossings. Moreover, pathway platform segments may also be shared with the rest of the vehicles. This transportation mean is characterized by its great flexibility, handling such sharp steeps and bendings that is capable of pervading through already developed city areas. The choice about the independence degree of the pathway platform is a remarkable due to its redounding effects on the rest of the design parameters: capacity, quality and costs, to name a few. The Vigo city council asked for a technical feasibility analysis on the implantation of a streetcar in that city. The project focuses on the implantation of three lines. One of the companies aspiring to manage the tram service ask us to develop a technical feasibility analysis on its implantation. We summarize in this paper the results of that analysis.
