Abstract

Aphis calycerarum n. sp. (Hemiptera, Aphididae, Aphidinae) is described from apterous and alate viviparous females collected in Argentina Chubut, Mendoza and Neuquén provinces) on two species of Calyceraceae, Calycera crassifolia and Boopis anthemoides. It is the first species of the tribe Aphidini recorded on species of Calyceraceae, whose distribution is neotropical; until now only aphid species, Aulacorthum solani (Macrosiphini), is known on Calyceraceae. The characteristics that allow to differentiate the new species from the other known species of the subtribe Aphidina known in South America are presented.
