Résumé
The present work was carried out to study carcass weight, slaughter age and carcass quality in lambs of Churra dairy breed. Carcass quality was measured through three characteristics: carcass color, conformation and greasing. Data included 539 carcass of Churra lambs. Birth weight, slaughter weight and carcass weight averaged 3.92, 10.20 and 6.43 kg, respectively. Slaughter age averaged 22.78 days and dressing percent was 64.42%. Important variation factors on slaughter age, in order of importance, were: birth type, sex of the lamb, the mother’s production level, flock and parity number.
