Abstract

Dermatomycosis is a disease caused by fungus, generally by Trichophytomspecies, though other species may be involved. When talking about thispathology there is a significant problem: their lack of treatment, forthat reason, new alternative therapies have emerged, for example, thetreatment whit methylene blue. The aim of this issue is to prove the effect of methylene blue as aphotodynamic agent in the photodynamic therapy as a treatment in aflock of sheep affected with dermatophytosis. For that reason we aregoing to use two different therapeutic protocols (weekly or two weeklyapplications with topical methylene blue). At the end of this study wecan see that the treatment response was favorable in both cases, withoutdifferences between animals in relation to the resolution of skin lesions.
