Résumé
The possible transmission of scrapie via milk and the fact that several UE countries request certifiedmilk come from scrapie-resistant flocks, make suitable the study of current status of scrapie resistancein Castilla-León sheep flocks. A total of 271 dairy sheep flocks belonging to Consortium for Ovine Promotionwere PRNP-genotyped over 2009 from DNA extracted from bulk tank milk somatic cells. Theallelic frequencies for ARR, ARQ-ARH, AHQ and VRQ were 38%, 57%, 5%, and 0%, respectively; theseresults evidenced a significant improvement of scrapie resistance in sheep flocks in Castilla-León incomparison with results obtained in 2005 (27%, 66.5%, 5.5% y 1%, respectively) in the same geographicalarea
