Resumo
Esophageal or reticular groove closure is a useful technique for the oral administration of drugs and thetreatment of some illness. Lysine-vasopressin were injected intravenously to the sheeps. It was used severalconcentrations (0.1, 0.08 and 0.06 IU/kg) to find the minimal effective doses. The reticular groove closure wasobserved by laparoscopy. It was administered oral glucose to measure the increase of glycemia. We found that 0.1 and 0.08 IU/kg caused the groove closure and an increase in glycemia in all the animals. We propose the use of the lower effective doses (0.08 IU/kg) due to the secondary effects of vasopressin.
