Chronologically, the Spanish Romanticism is totally out of phase compared to other European countries, which together with its short length prevented the romantic aesthetics from becoming rooted. The fight against the rules of the traditional poetics among romantic writers affected the limits between verse and prose which are becoming more permeable. Owing to this, the most conservative theorists gave numerous criticism The purpose in creating a poetic prose by authors such as Somoza, Piferrel; Gil y Carrasca and Bécquer has to be understood through this hybridism between poetics and prose, through the necessity of a prose including the language of the poetry. In all Bécquer's writings, from the Historia de los templos de España to the letters Desde mi celda, together with the Rimas and Leyendas, the height and maturity of Bécquer's prose, there is a conscious purpose of giving the prose the category of poetry leaving the voice of the rhetorical verse and adopting the flexibility of the rhythmic cadence.
