Resumo

Historia de una anatomía [History of an Anatomy] (2010), by Francisca Aguirre, proposes a new approach to corporality as a narrative subject. Divided into two thematic cores, the poetry collection uses corporality as a nexus between memory and episteme. Thus, the first part of the work recreates the body from poetry in its most physical aspect, while the second part adheres to the necessity of defending and tackling historical memory. Surprisingly, and althought it was awarded the National Prize for Poetry, Historia de una anatomía has been quite disregarded by academic critique, so my proposal constitutes a completely unprecedented contribution, since the poetry collection is analysed through the lens of Body and Gender Studies, as well as the biopolitical analysis that rises from historical memory
