Resum

The aim of this paper is to analyze the vision of the Hundred Years War that we find in an anonymous French chronicle of the first half of XVth century, known as the Journal d’un bourgeois de Paris. After a presentation of the text and its political context, we study the author’s ideology about three topics: national consciousness, the reasons of war and the image of war. As a conclusion, we stress the importance that war issues had in the construction of the discourse on urban identity that appears in the chronicle.
