Abstract

The results of several crown thinning and mixed thinning sample plots in evenaged mountain pine stands (Pinus uncinata Ram.) of the catalan Pyreness are described. There are three sample plots for each thinning type. The stands belong to the first site index class and for each of them the number of selected trees (future trees) as well as the thinning intensity was fixed. The stand data before and after the thinning are shown and discuss, specially in their influence to the stand structure. The future trees were pruned. Finally a first provisional crown thinning management models are proposed
