Impulso y difusión de la Ciencia del Suelo en el 2015. Año Internacional de los Suelos (AIS2015)

Abstract

2015 is the International Year of Soils (IYS2015). During this year the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) is in charge of launching, coordinating and developing the diffusion platform. This campaign brings together many initiatives and activities. They are all undertaken to disseminate soil knowledge, to raise awareness of soil protection and to promote the rational use of this natural resource. They may be of great interest to improve teaching about the soil, which is sometimes as unknown as essential. The purpose of this paper is to present in a quick review the large number of tools, resources and materials that have emerged from a variety of initiatives coordinated by the participating organizations. Some of the most interesting educational materials have been selected and compiled. Finally, a number of activities are suggested to make Soil Science more appealing for the educational community
