Resum
The eastern part of the Bierzo Basin (NW Spain) and its boundary with the Duero basin show cenozoic tectonic structures related to the present-day topography. In this work, this relationship is studied by mapping Homogeneous Geomorphological Units (fluvial and paleorelief units) with homogeneous substrate geology and structural units to scale 1:100.000. As a result, this cartography shows some characteristics of the relief evolution. The fluvial network was first determined by the strength of paleozoic substrate units; later, the activity of cenozoic thrusts (mainly E-W direction) diverted some fluvial channels (Cenozoic) to follow two main paths, being the first one perpendicular (mainly N-S direction) and the second one parallel (mainly NE-SW direction) to the main thrusts. The paleoreliefs show differences in height among them associated with vertical displacements and the two main vergences of cenozoic thrusts present in the area.
