Abstract
We have evaluated the effect of the nephrotoxic acute renal failure (neomycin sulphate, 100 mg/kg bodyweight) on the calcium and phosphorus metabolism. We have found higher levéisin urea (1,33 g/i), increatinine (7,97 mg/dl), and serical phosphorus (14,43 mg/dl); we have also noticed some increases (though lower) in magnesemia (2,75 mg/dl), in proteinemia (7,15 g/l) and in the activity of alkaline phosphatase (71,25 Ul/I); the calcemia, onthe contrary, hada remarkable decrease (7,81 mg/dl), similar at the hydroxyprolinuria (15,75mg/24 h) but without stadistíc significance, in this case.
