Résumé

Located at the entrance of Ría de Vigo, Illas Cíes stand out for its asymmetrical profile, with two very different facades. On the western facade, cliffs dominate reaching over 160 m of altitude and 80º slope. The eastern facade is characterized by a smooth topography with slopes that do not reach 75º and heights not exceeding 150 m, chaining cliffs, platforms, beaches, sand dunes and beaches of blocks. With the aim to become a better characterization of the types of coast have generated various layers of information through a GIS from digital models 2 m resolution, which allowed us to distinguish 5 types of cliffs and beach-dune systems. The analysis has allowed a precise geomorphological cartography, identifying not only the most extensive landforms but also those minor case of coastal platforms or fossilized sectors by ancient sedimentary deposits. To do this we used a GPS to centimeter accuracy.
