Resum

As a result of the new Doctoral Program in Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of León, within the Educational Evaluation and Guidance research group, several studies have been initiated on educational levels of Primary and Secondary Education, linked to the field of educational policy. This doctoral thesis was born as part of one of these studies, focused on the stage of compulsory education. The objective is to know from the perspective of teachers, parents, students and counselors, the factors that are leading students to achieve poor academic performance during the transition from Primary Education to Secondary Education, as well as their link with early school leaving. The purpose is to make proposals for the improvement of academic performance. The methodology to be used in this thesis will be fundamentally survey. So far, a first review study has been carried out and it intends to continue with this project, responding to the specific objectives proposed. The conclusions should lead to addressing the problem from all possible perspectives, in order to generate the most accurate response.
