Abstract

Veterinary expertise consists of legal assistance in civil, criminal and administrative litigation related to animals, food and, in general, public health. Therefore, the role of the veterinary expert is to help judges and lawyers during the judicial process to determine a fact that occurred within the veterinary field. Within the branch of the Legal Veterinary there is a relevant event that is the expansion in its field of action, due to the generalization of control systems and audits in the field of food safety. The phenomenon of globalization has clearly affected veterinary processes and products, which implies, among other circumstances, the consolidation of the figure of the veterinary expert, a close collaborator of the Administration of Justice in forensic and toxicological matters
