Abstract

It is well known that the early man has been using the plants since his inception, concretely focusing on their possible therapeutic uses. What is unknown is how he was able to realize, if it was by chance or guided by an instinct just like in animals. The uses of lots of medicinal herbs have been communicated among generations and ancient cultures (Mesopotamia, Egypt, etc.), being compiled in different subsequent documents that have come to our notice, both directly and indirectly. The objective of this oral communication is the compilation of some relevant facts or attitudes that may have meant the use of different plants for medicinal purposes.
