Resum

In this correlational study we seek to know the relationship of academic resilience to general health and anxiety and gender differences. 620 students participated (high school and college), in the provinces of León and Salamanca (50% male). Self-report measures were applied in the context of class. Correlation analysis and t-test mean differences were performed. The results show that resilience is related strongly negative, with anxiety and general health (poor health). Regarding gender differences, men scored higher on resilience while women achieve lower scores in general health and have more anxiety. We conclude that students who have expertise to successfully overcome setbacks and academic stressors have better health and less anxiety.
