Las leguminosas (Leguminosae o Fabaceae): una síntesis de las clasificaciones, taxonomía y filogenia de la familia a lo largo del tiempo

Resumen

¿Qué son exactamente las leguminosas? ¿Y las legumbres? Para explicarlo se hace un seguimiento botánico de la clasificación de la familia Fabaceae a lo largo del tiempo hasta llegar al momento actual, en la que las relaciones filogenéticas conocidas juegan un papel importante en las más recientes propuestas taxonómicas. Para ello se presenta una recensión de las clasificaciones más importantes por su duración en el ámbito científico y se destacan las posiciones taxonómicas por las que ha pasado de este grupo tan importante para la economía y la vida humana. Se aportan algunos datos básicos de las características y usos de las plantas de la familia.
