Résumé

An assemblage of cleavers from the archaeological site of Louselas, situated in the western sector of the Cantabrian area, is studied. It is assigned to an intermediate stage of the Acheulean. From a technological perspective, by analysing the characteristics of the supports and its configuration, we can see a remarkable frequency of cleavers performed on slightly transformed transverse flakes. From a morphological point of view, we apply a new methodology allowing us to characterize the variability of the sample and formal characters of the specimens, which are typologically assigned to the most basic types. Also, a contextualization with other peninsular series will be undertaken.
