Abstract

This article questions the sexist structures of competitive sport with the segregation of male and female athletes. The value and importance of sport is an important area for consideration in its use as a biopolitical device for individual gender identity. We used the rules of international organizations on gender verification for female athletes, and explores the bipolar configuration of sport. The arguments that prevent a change of ways of thinking and structures are analyzed and it raises a debate and investigates the possibility of transforming the competitive sport into a multi-gender practice.
