Objetivos de desarrollo sostenible

Resumen

Una válvula de disco para sustitución de la válvula mitral fue diseñada en 1964 por el cirujano cardiovascular español Francisco Alvarez. La prótesis se implantó en España y en Inglaterra hasta 1967. Las complicaciones tromboembólicas surgidas aconsejaron la interrupción de su aplicación.
