Resumo
From the description and sedimentological interpretation of the detritic facies in the Northern part of Meirama basin, several sequences are indentified as a fan depositional environment. Sedimentation was conditioned by the motion of the strike-slip fault which this tertiary basin is associated with; and by a source area weathered whose components were transported to the sedimentary basin by gravity flows and sheet-floods, both of them conditioned by climatic factors.
