Abstract
The evolution of the Spanish educational system has been conditioned by the existence of numerous standards, especially those related to non-university education. This fact has sometimes led to an incomplete implementation of the new educational approved methods. The aim of this study is to analyse the evolution of the educational system in the province of Leon from 1986 to 2010, at both university and non-university levels. With this purpose we make a comparison between the educational situation in the province of Leon and this situation in Castile and Leon Region and Spain.
