Abstract
In this study we have analized foreign inmigration tu León during the period of 1700 to 1850. Due to the type of sources used, especially public documents, we have focused more on the life of foreing families, who settled in the province and especially in the city of León. Thus, after a general approach, dominated by french and portuguese inmigrants, we have been able to reconstruct the trayectorias of french families, studying not only thcir economic success, but also their strong tics to the city of León.
