El desarrollo del potencial empresarial de los estudiantes en las Universidades Públicas de la Comunidad Autónoma de Castilla y León

This research study considers the necessity of including issues related to entrepreneurship in University education. Based on a reviewing of the main European Union policies regarding education, employment and social cohesion, we analyze those programs and activities in the public universities of Castilla y León training or supporting the entrepreneurial spirit of their students. A practical model to incorporate entrepreneurial knowledge, skills and attitudes in the academic curriculum is also proposed, by means of active learning methodologies adapted to the requirements of students at different levels and disciplines. Afterwards, we present the main results from a survey on university students in the Autonomous Community, in order to know their opinion about teaching and supporting activities on entrepreneurship developed in higher education institutions, as well as their attitude towards the possibility of business start-up as a labour alternative. Obtained conclusions include useful suggestions for university academic authorities aiming the final goal of maximizing the entrepreneurial potential of either students or graduates.
