Résumé

The majority of the most widely-sold videogames, on a global basis, tend to encourage values that are contrary to those that education attempts to inculcate, for example: violence as a strategy when faced with conflict, competitiveness and victory as unquestioned goals, and disrespect towards people who are weaker or different. In this way socialization is firmly set within a patriarchal culture, a key gender feature that explains a great deal of the cultural and structural violence present in today¿s society. Schools cannot remain passive in the presence of this model of socialization. They must provide tools and strategies so that their pupils are able to understand and analyse with a critical eye these powerful ¿toys¿.With the aim of aiding educators and families in this task, a free teaching guide has been produced.
