Résumé
In this article we set out to throw some light on the internal factors that give rise to lexical diversity in Neo-Latin. This is no easy task as once and again the treatment of perspective is that which had always been employed. This would lead to the logical conclusion that there should be no variation. However, through interpreting what the critics have to say and through observing the history of theoretical recommendations and preferences, it is possible to explain how expressive procedures are updated and why it is that the lexicon property needs to be defended.
