Abstract
The strangthened position of Aceralia is the result of a short but intense rationalization process, corporate reorganization and pivatization of the Spanish integral iron and steel industry. This deep rationalization has allowed Aceralia to deepen, starting from 1997, its process of internationalization, which was reinforced with the linking to the Arbed group, and the later participations in dustributions centers and steel producers, in bordering countries of the European Union. And this process will consolidate if the merger agreement Arbed-Aceralia-usinor is developed favorably, contributing, this way, to integrate to the Spanis iron and steel industry in the community and world steel leader
