Abstract
It is our purpose to study nouns designing odds and ends but used in some Spanish Mediaeval literary works to emphasize negation. We will also observe that some of these terms are still used beyond the 15th century, which shows that this procedure, already present in Latin and inherited by all Romance languages has kept its essential basis along history. In this paper, we specifically leave aside those resources which, also employing hyperbole, do not refer to items of small value but large amounts or entities of big significance, always introduced by "por".
