Dinámicas de cambio urbano con perspectiva de género. Marco legal y ejemplos de actuaciones positivas

Abstract

Most of the Spanish cities have done in the last years actions for the equality. In some of them the first Equality Plans were approved more than twenty years ago and there are examples of Plans elaborated by corporations of very different political sign. However, the cases in which these actions have been able to transcend the administrative sphere and provoke a change in the city by introducing the gender perspective in urban design are very scarce. On many occasions, the municipal Equality Plans have been elaborated by consultants who, using the same model, have drafted more or less complex documents for different cities, whose importance and repercussion has been limited by the lack of human and economic resources to carry out implementation. In this communication, the authors intend to reflect on the evolution of equality legislation, municipal actions and the introduction of the gender perspective in the design of Spanish cities, studying 10 cases in different locations as examples of good practices.
