Abstract

The 18th century, throughout his hundred years, supposed a deep change in male clothing, consequently, also of the jewels. It would pass from the baroque inheritance of the 17th century to the cleanliness in ornaments of the final years of the 18th century and especially the beginnings of nineteenth century. All this, equally determined to the ideological changes that were taking place in the West and that would culminate with the French Revolution and, in our case, the independence of the Spanish possessions in America.
