Abstract

This study is a qualitative research of character, where the line of work in which it is inserted is oriented perspective with gender perspective and is part of the study of those women who, depending on their conditions, have assumed positions of leadership within an institution of higher education (IES). The purpose is to investigate the perception that women give their management work in the educational organization to which they belong, approaching this situation from the challenge involving them assume such charges within a predominantly patriarchal culture. With regard to the methodology itself such, this is based on a study of character qualitative whose paradigm is interpretive. It also obeys an exploratory descriptive research since it aims to explore and describe the perceptions that women give their managers work within an IES. Now well, for the analysis of the data is used the analysis of type interpretive through the strategy of the analysis theme with all its stages differentiated. The method was the study of cases, which, were used as techniques in depth interview and discussion group. The data collection was performed using a pattern semi structured and a dash of theme, thus promoting enrichment of information by the women in the study. Similarly, it should be noted that this research is divided into six major chapters that account for the investigative process. According to the results obtained, could be concluded that the perception that women attributed them to the management task is related to gender inequalities, understood by them as struggles of existing power; as well as inequities, understood as the non-recognition in their differences to the extent that occupy management positions in the higher education organization. Therefore, that is suggested, in the future, generate lines of action research that consider gender differences, thus generating strategies that favor the work management of the women of the IES to which they belong
