Abstract
The aim of this paper is twofold. On the one hand, it intends to analyze the influence of social capital on the stages in the process of entrepreneurial creation, the discovery and the exploitation of opportunities for creating a business. Secondly, it aims to analyze the existence of gender differences both in the discovery and in the exploitation of business opportunities. In order to achieve this, we use data from the GEM Spanish Project (2009).
