Resumen

The catalogue of epicontinental water bugs (Nepomorpha y Gerromorpha) from Canary Islands (Spain) is presented. The catalogue is elaborated with records from 43 published articles and from several unpublished records. A total of 15 species and subspecies of water bugs from Canary Islands were recorded, 2 species and one subspecie are Canarian endemics. Biodiversity of epicontinental water bugs from Canary Islands is known but not its distribution in the different islands and within each island. This study helps to improve the knowledge to the distribution of species and subspecies, extending the insular distribution of 9 of them. Chorological data from all taxa are included, highlighting aspects of their biology and typical habitat. For each taxa, updated maps of distribution U.T.M. 1 x 1 km are presented. Finally, faunistic, biogeographic and ecological information are discussed.
