Abstract

The hydraulic supply network of Los Corralones is established in a source area located 5,5 km far from the mining exploitation. lt has a recharge basin of 120 ha and a constant yearly hydraulic regime over 2.5 km that it is supplied by the Acequia del Caño, which drains into a-stream that is captured by another canal 700 m far from the mining area. Both the Acequia del Caño and the canal that captures the stream have a trapezoidal section with a slightly irregular surface and a slope <0. 5 %. The Acequia del Caño canal supplies (Qirrigation ditch = 298 I / s) is necessary far the calculated ground-sluicing works (Qchannel = 208 I / s), in addition to the seasonal contribution by the Los Corralones natural reception basin. The implemented methodology, based on the toponymical analysis, together with the hydraulic and hydrogeological characterization shed light into the water supply system, adding information far the reconstruction of the Roman mining engineering in the province of Zamora.
