Abstract

The doctoral thesis presented below, was developed in the research of Planning and Management of Educational Institutions, the PhD in Educational Innovation Planning Department of Education in the University of Alcalá de Henares, Madrid Spain. More specifically sought to develop knowledge through the implementation of Strategic Management tools in a particular area of the Chilean higher education; as Tertiary Education Military. The proposed research general objective, check the alignment of strategic management tools in educational management training of cadets at the School of Aviation Air Force of Chile. To achieve the overall objective and considering the condition of Centre military education of the Air Force, five specific objectives sought by the materialization of research were proposed, explore and understand the environment of the Centre, to develop an internal analysis and external, so as to achieve obtaining information to identify and understand the issues and / or risks that may affect the quality of the processes of formation of the EA The previously proposed, sought to obtain the information necessary to elaborate on the structure of its Strategic Focus (mission, vision, strategic objectives and value proposition), in order to validate or reapreciarlo and thus guide integral and aligned so the training process Officers future of the institution; Finally on this point, it is worth noting the development and proposal of the Balanced Scorecard as a tool of management control. Finally, the development of research, through the integration of different areas that articulate the Educational Project of the EA, aims to provide knowledge to the process of planning, management and training of future officers of the Air Force, considering one of the most important and critical to the institution processes; which is embodied in the School of Aviation, Educational site with features in common with any establishment of tertiary education; but also with features that require additional efforts to address and teaching.
